Kind of a rainy, chilly, dreary day here….so I’m working on my Simple Abundance quilt.
Based on a tutorial by crazymomquilts. I will be hand quilting with straight lines using perle cotton #8. I’ve finished one section and really enjoyed the look and stitching with the perle cotton.
and pinning here (Pinterest), it’s kind of addicting and fun!

Joining the shutter project link up at Donna’s Funky Junk Interiors
I found this shutter at a local Antique Store. I used Miss Mustard Seed’s inspirational tutorials on painting and waxing to give it a whimsical look, and use it as a shelf in my greenhouse. I love the little porcelain knob, so sweet.
Had so much fun with this project, I started and finished another. I really like the waxing technique. I’ve refinished many pieces of furniture but never with paint and wax, it was fun and fast!!
A couple greenhouse pics
A flowering succulent
I like to decorate my pots with moss.
We have a little wren who likes to make a house in here in the Spring, hope she picks this one, this year!

That’s ok more time for sewing *yay, and I have finished a couple quilts.
Soft edge pattern by “Cotton Way” in the Simple Abundance line by Moda.
Still need to clip a few threads…..or more than a few haha.
I trimmed the edge with some vintage red cotton ric-rac. I’ve had this fabric and pattern for awhile, so glad to finish it, and I’m very happy with the quilt.
And the Cubby Stars quilt a long, made with “Fresh Cottons” on the front and “Breakfast at Tiffanys” polka dots on the back. Thanks for the instruction Tracy!!
I used a bamboo and cotton blend batting and I really like it.
It’s not quite as stiff as warm and natural.
Joanna from Fig Tree Quilts designs beautiful fabrics.
I love this quilt!
