World's Fair

is the name of this 12"quilt block repeated in the same fabrics. Machine pieced and hand quilted in 30 pieces. Completed in 1998.
Front
These are the same fabrics used on the front except for the ecology cloth.

Kind of like having two quilts in one.

We have some very pretty sunsets at our house.

Minnesota Missle

is the name of this pattern. It was made from a quilt calendar with patterns included for each month. Machine pieced and hand quilted, completed in 1990, this quilt measures 40"x40". I am disappointed that the fabrics in this quilt faded so much and it wasn't in the sun.

There is a tree branch shadow on the quilt.

Merry-go-Round and Farmhouse Quilts

My Merry-go-Round quilt measures 60''x68" and was completed in November of 2oo8. I used two jelly rolls in the Wee Play design. This is the first time I have used jelly rolls and I love them. This quilt was so much fun to make machine stitched and hand quilted 1/4" away from all the seams. After I hung the quilt for its photo, I noticed the sun shining through the front, it looked like stained glass. I love this picture!!

I quilt all my quilts in on my lap in pieces, this one I quilted in three pieces. I've been thinking a little about a longarm quilting machine, but the handwork is really the favorite part of the process for me, quiet and relaxing.

The back is a printed muslin with flowers and butterflies, it reminded me of my Mom she loved butterflies.

My "Farmhouse" quilt measures 52"x72" and was completed in June 2oo8. It has flannels on the front and cotton on the back. Machine pieced and hand quilted in the ditch.

I quilted this Quilt in five pieces

And while I was taking this picture today.

Riley proceeded to help himself to this. Bad boy Riley ~ I love you.

Wool Garden #2 and a Valentine Gingerbread house

I have really enjoyed stitching the"Wool Garden" block of the month from Farmhouse Woolens. I love the hand drawn shapes and it isn't overwhelming to finish before the next block arrives. The wool Karen selects is beautiful too! The blocks are so much prettier in real life.

One of my favorite things to do during the holidays is bake and decorate a gingerbread house. Well this year I had it baked but we never managed our time well enough to decorate it. So we decided to turn it into a Valentine House and we can enjoy it even longer, the houses always smell so good. Next year I want to bake my houses in October....
